The Science Behind Ranking on Google

The social eye is one of the best website digital agencies in Karachi, Pakistan. It has been two years since its inception and we have established a prominent logo in the web design and development market. Not only brands and companies from Pakistan but from other parts of the world are getting professional services from us. We have established joint ventures around the world. Google has several algorithms that determine the type of information that will be passed based on each searcher’s query. The goal is to quickly deliver high-quality content and continuously release new algorithms to get closer to it. Try to find relevant information without a quick online search, pointing you in the right direction, and you will immediately see how useless the online world without keyword-driven guidance. While the content is proprietary, this overview will give you a basic idea of how Google works. Google is the dominant force in the search engine world, and there is an entire industry dedicated to maximizing the visibility of its search engine results: Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

First, Google’s algorithm is proprietary, and because of its sheer complexity, it has become a major search contender. If other competitors are free to openly use the internal workings of the algorithm, they can easily introduce competing platforms with similar capabilities, and Google’s search share may fall unfairly.

Second, millions of people have made a living by improving their position in Google, and many of them are willing to use ethically problematic strategies or spam in order to gain more search visibility. If Google completely publishes its search algorithm, they can easily find bigger vulnerabilities and undermine the relatively fair search engine results page (SERP) we expect from the giants.

Google’s revelation:

Google didn’t make the webmaster completely in trouble. Although it refuses to disclose specific details about how the algorithm works, it is very open to the general intent of the algorithm and what the webmaster can take away. For example, Google has published and regularly updated the Search Quality Rating Guidebook; this is a fairly comprehensive guide that explains how Google judges the general concept of given page quality, totaling 160 pages, and last updated in July last year. As we all know, Google will explain its updates when it comes to the update – especially for larger ones – with a short summary and a list of action items for webmasters. These are very useful sources of information.

Direct research:

However, Google did not provide us with all the content. If you scroll through Moz’s fairly comprehensive guide to Google’s algorithm change history, you’ll notice dozens of small updates that Google hasn’t officially announced, and in many cases, refuse to admit. How does the search community know that these algorithmic changes have been expanded? We have volatility indicators like MozCast that measure how much SERP changes over a given period of time; high volatility over time is often a sign of some kind of algorithmic change. We can also experiment, for example using two different strategies on two different pages and seeing which one is higher at the end of the experimental period. And because the SEO community is very open to sharing this information, it takes only one experiment to provide more experience and knowledge to the entire community.

Scheduling Crawlers

Google uses crawlers (called “bots”) to scan web pages, browse various web pages, and index their vast databases. These crawlers track links from one page to another and eventually retrieve a large amount of information. Webmasters can choose not to allow these crawlers to access their sites, but this will prevent Google from viewing and indexing (which we’ll cover below) the information on its site.

Index information

When you type in Google, your query matches a lot of information in the Google index. When a robot crawls a web page, the information they find on each website is carefully indexed so that searchers can find content relevant to their query. The indexing process changes periodically to keep the information fresh. Google currently uses more than 200 factors to index web pages.

Ranking page

Commonly used search terms can produce millions of results. For example, if you type “dog training,” Google will return approximately 281 million pages. In these pages, only a few results are displayed on the first page, and most people click on the results to get more information.

Google’s PageRank algorithm plays an important role in determining the order in which Google results are displayed. PageRank depends on the lifetime of the page, the number, and quality of incoming links, and the location and frequency of related keywords.

Google constantly updates its algorithms to combat spam and deliver high-quality results to users. As of March 2014, Google accounted for 87.1% of the mobile search market. Google’s monthly search volume is 11.944 billion, constantly changing the “science” of its processes to provide users with better, more relevant results.
